Course Overview

The COVID-19 pandemic has raised many challenges for organisations on a global scale. Even organisations with robust, tried and tested business continuity plans have struggled to adapt to the immense impacts of COVID-19. With the very real risk of new cluster outbreaks and even a second wave of infections, recovery won’t be a lineal process. This makes it even more important to have well designed, flexible pandemic recovery plans that enable you to adapt your approach as the pandemic evolves.

As organisations move into the recovery phase of COVID-19, RiskLogic has released the Optimising Recovery Course. This online course has been designed from first hand experience in assisting organisations across Australia and New Zealand prepare and execute successful recovery strategies.

From building the foundations for recovery to managing the physical environment, and dealing with new infections, returning to business-as-usual and effective communication with stakeholders, this course will assist you prepare for a successful recovery from COVID-19.

Course Structure

Timing: 2.5 hours per module
Frequency of modules: Each module is run once per week. Participants to pick and choose when they complete each module.
Pre-requisites: Aside from module 1, participants do not need to complete modules in a specific order.
Format: Modules to be delivered via interactive webinar.

Registration will provide access for one participant to all four modules, however, the paid registration is transferrable. I.e. an HR person can attend module two, and a communications person can attend module four.

If multiple people want to log into the same session, then tickets to the course need to be purchased for each person.

Each module will have a practical activity to complete and include some free tools or templates top assist with developing their plan.

Course Modules

The pandemic recovery course is broken into four modules exploring the foundations for a successful recovery, developing and managing COVID-safe plans, returning to a new business-as-usual and communication strategies and requirements when managing unfolding situations such as cluster outbreaks.

Module one: Building the foundations for recovery

  • Engaging with senior management
  • Setting guiding principles for recovery
  • Staggering recovery across different jurisdictions
  • Future threats and what we have learnt.
  • Response requirements for managing new incidents
  • Developing and implementing an effective Recovery Plan
  • Building resilience in the new normal

Module two: Managing the physical environment

  • Developing COVID-Safe Plans (obligations, regulations)
  • Implementing Public Health and Social Measures (PHSM) in the workplace
  • Infection control practices (hygiene, PPE, sanitation, waste)
  • Getting to work, staying at work and getting home
  • Enabling continuity of business in a physically distanced world
  • Managing new infections (random vs clusters, notification of illness, health screening, contact tracing obligations)

Module three: Returning to Business-as-usual

  • Matching the physical environment to business needs
  • Returning critical business functions to BAU
  • Managing disruptions caused by recovery
  • Triggers for returning to a remote working environment

Module four: Communicating with stakeholders

  • Building a communication strategy for recovery
  • Messaging to employees, customers and other stakeholders
  • Communication requirements during a cluster
